Fundamental Observation: Barrel Tasting

***As a Christian, who follows Gods word and who serve’s the Lord Jesus Christ, I want to disclaim that I do not promote drunkenness, nor am I a drunkard. I believe it is an act of disobedience not only to God but it is harmful and unsafe for the consumer and those around them. The bible teaches that those actively choosing to be drunk on a consistent scale cannot serve and honor the Lord at the same time.  (Proverbs 20:1, Isa. 28:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:7–8 etc.) If you cannot drink without getting drunk, had a problem in the past with alcohol or if you drink and are convicted in your spirit then it is a sin for you to continue. (If you have any questions please feel free to contact me)

The bible also teaches that all things are given to those in Christ that come from the earth with a sober mind. I believe the Lord made water into fermented wine, not grape juice and that it should be take with a glad heart. (Ps 104:15, Eccles. 9:7, Luke 7:33-35, John 2:1-11, 1 Corinthians 6:12 etc.)

Please drink moderately and enjoyably.

I had the privilege of attending the anniversary Week of Logic at Bottle Logic Brewing in Anaheim CA. This is their yearly celebration as a brewery and each day of the week for this event was a special release on tap. With amazing beers such as Ground State, Space Trace, Leche Borracho, and the sought after Fundamental Observation. If you got to attend each day you get a passport book with a stamp of attendance, with 7 stamps you got a bottle opener, teku glass, a growler and a ticket to the invite only Fundamental Observation barrel tasting event. This was a day to try this year’s Fundamental Observation aged in a number of different barrels.

Yes, this blog is assumed that I attended each day for the Week of Logic and will be writing about the barrel tasting event. It was a fun week but not too sure if I would do a full week again.

Though I was the only one to get the invite out of all of my friends, I certainly wasn’t lone wolfing it since the people were great and welcoming. Let me just say the barrel tasting event was a an awesome experience and a great introduction for it being the first time I’ve had Fundamental Observation.

As we waited to enter to the back at our appointed time we got our waters ready for some tasting. When the doors opened everyone grabbed one of each of the 4 barrels of aging FO. After getting our spot to taste these bad boys everyone jumped in line for the cheese and bread plates, but for me I was frankly sick and tired of waiting in line at bottle logic(Week of Logic was insanely crowded), well not for cheese.

After a nice speech of the beers it was tasting time! Ya these were some bomb beers, every table had extra cups to blend  whatever variation we wanted from the beers. I think my favorite was the Buffalo, Weller and 4 Roses Blend.
Then at the end we got to try the Fundamental Forces, which was noted to be FO on steroids. And the cool thing about this was that we were the first to ever taste this beer. A true honor to be apart of this amazing event. Props to Bottle Logic for keeping their word on all the free giveaways even though the turnout was three times the amount they expected.

This was definitely a great introduction to this years Fundamental Observation(2016).  Each individual who is Tier 3 (membership due to attending 7 days of the Week of Logic) was guaranteed one bottle of FO a day before the main bottle release.
The photo below is the day of FO pick-ups and it being on tap. Definitely one of my favorite beers, a solid bourbon barrel aged vanilla stout. Bottle Logic Brewing is killing it!
